This animal was an ancester of modern day Sand Sharks and lived during the Eocene Epoch (55 MYA). The teeth are sometimes confused with other genera like Scapanorhynchus, Odontaspis and Carcharias. These symmetrical teeth are all anteriors from the front of the mouth. These are large teeth from this species ranging in size from 1 3/8" to 1".
