Lee Creek - C. megalodon Shark Teeth - Grade 10


Carcharocles megalodon was the Son of Carcharocles chubutensis and the Grand Son of Carcharocles angustidens.   This animal evolved from Carcharocles auriculatus and Otodus obliquus.

CMLC1032  This tooth is a Second Anterior - AIIIL - from the right side of the upper jaw.  There are 12 damaged serrations in one area on the upper right edge and one next to the tip.  Beautiful combination of colors.  The "root nibs" and size indicate a young animal who lived near the end of the megalodon evolutionary cycle.
