Paleocarcharodon Shark Teeth

Paleocarcharodon orientalis

(Great, Great Grand Uncle of the C. megalodon
and brother of Otodus)

from Ouled Abdoun Basin;
Oued Zem, near Kouribgha, Morocco

These teeth have some of the largest serrations relative to tooth size of any shark teeth.  This animal lived during the late Danian Stage (early Palaeocene - 62 MYA) and disappeared in the early Thanetian (late Palaeocene - 55 MYA).
